Oregon's Most Liberal City
The online site ePodunk looked at several demographic criteria and calculated the most liberal towns in each state. The factors they considered included:
- individual contributions to PACs;
- election returns; gay households;
- local government resolutions opposing combat in Iraq;
- local officials performing gay marriages;
- congressional district voting history; and
- population.
Many of the results were not shocking. Berkeley is the most liberal town in California, Madison in Wisconsin, Philly in Pennsylvania, and Providence in Rhode Island. So of course, you know which town is Oregon's most liberal, right?
Discuss.

Although I didn't guess it, I'm not that surprised.
Lincoln City Mayor Lori Hollingsworth is a very strong and smart leader working to protect Oregon's land, air, water, and wildlife.

What were the facts guaged to reach this conclusion? I would presume by voting record per capita that Ashland trumps Lincoln City...

Ashland, though, with all that new development and the steep rise in housing prices, has become the northern edge of Marin County.
I guess definitions of liberal differ.

I'm not surprised either - I spent first grade in the LC, and that (at least WAY back in the day) is some good people through and through.
My cat Albert got run over back then, though. Bastard tourists...

I think they also calculated per capita distribution of Subaru stationwagons, Budhist prayer flags and NPR contributions.
