Portland International Film Festival
Jenson Hagen
The 30th annual Portland International Film Festival started on Friday. It runs until February 24th. I recommended you go see a movie.
I just got back from Amazing Grace, the story of William Wilberforce's push to end slavery throughout the British kingdom. Absolutely top notch. I would easily say this was one of the best movies I've seen in a really long time. It plays again Thursday at 8:15. If you don't have tickets, show up early, early.
A lot of movies sell out early. To ensure you have a ticket, you can purchase them online, or PIFF has a ticket office inside the Portland Art Museum that is open 1-7pm daily (I believe). I already loaded up on tickets.
The two movies from Argentina look good. Also, the Iraqi movie seems very interesting. Explore their website and va voir un film international!
