Quick Hits and Deep Thoughts: Bill Sizemore, Judy Stiegler, and David Letterman
- Once again, Bill Sizemore is back with a measure to silence Oregon's labor unions -- for the fourth time. The Defend Oregon Coalition has rolled out its first ad opposing Measure 64. Learn more here.
- I don't know about you, but trying to get up to speed on the science and economics behind some environmental policies can be overwhelming and frustrating. Well, the Sightline Institute has produced a comprehensive primer on Cap & Trade - and written it for a lay audience. Check it out.
- In Bend, Judy Stiegler is making a strong run for the GOP-held seat in HD 54. Here's her first TV spot. Donate at ActBlue to help her keep it on the air. (Hat tip to the Oregon House Democrats blog.)
- Wow. David Letterman is pissed. It seems that John McCain was supposed to be on his show, called him personally to say that he was jumping on a plane to D.C. "immediately", and then did an interview with Katie Couric (and never did get on that plane.) Ouch:

If you really want a better majority in the state house please send Judy Stiegler some money!

I'm not exactly considered a die hard union supporter, although my fil and both bil's are UAW.
This preposterous and repeated attempt by Sizemore needs to stop. Vote NO!

If you haven't done so, watch the Letterman clip. Ahhhh, catharsis.

Congress has been stymied these past two years of Democratic "control" by filibusters. Let's do our part to take that away from the Reich.
As for unions, they are the only reason we are not making the same wages as in other countries like China, India, etc. And we STILL became for biggest economy in the world. Why we are in trouble now is not because of the workers. This is a management issue. Change the managers.

Measure 64 is the prime example of the result of a person who is bored in thier dealing with life and having too much money on their hands. I belive Bill's time would be better well spent paying off his court ordered debt than giving us this ubiquitous garbage.
That is why you need to vote NO on everything - then we don't have to worry about any of this crap.
