Sizemore Banned From Running Charities

Carla Axtman

From Matt Davis at the Merc's Blogtown:

Circuit Court Judge Janice Wilson has this afternoon issued an injunction against Bill Sizemore forbidding him from ever again managing or profiting from any charitable organization.

Looks like ol Bill might be up for criminal charges too, should the Mult Co DA decide to actually make some real justice happen.

    Yaaaaawn. I mean really.

Sounds like ol' Sizemore is reaping some karma...

Yes Richard...nothing is more boring than watching justice served.

    Yawn, indeed.

What do you mean about criminal charges, Carla? I was flatly told by Norman Frink that McDA would have nothing to do with the Sizemore case being handled by Walker. They refuse to initiate an investigation.

Why should this injunction be any more effective than all the other court rulings that Sleazemore has flouted? Remember those considerable sums he was supposed to pay as damages in earlier cases? He hasn't paid a dime, as far as I know.

    TJ:

Read Matt Davis's story that I linked. The judge has indicated that if the DA will step up, criminal charges could be in the offing.

I'm with Joel on this one. Until Sizemore lands in jail for an extensive sentence all the other court rulings just seem to be nuisances he ignores. I remain disappointed that someone can flout the law with such impunity and continue to get away with it. Over the last few years he has received $100's of thousands and not paid any of his court decreed debt. Why do the courts let him get away with it? For most citizens their wages are attached; not Sizemore. He can easily work around the restrictions of this latest court order and nothing will really change.

Of course John Calhoun & Joel are correct--Sizemore richly deserves to be in jail for his various frauds and conspiracies. And the conspiracy charges should extend to his financial backers, who must have known all along what shenanigans he's been pulling with their funds. But this is--finally--a step in the right direction.

Does this mean that Bill Sizeless may actually have to get a real job?

Watch him go to Washington where presumably he will be free to continue making a living mounting frivolous ballot measure campaigns. If he does go there Oregon would have to mount cameras on the bridge to catch him if he ever ventures into Oregon again.

More WOD madness. If you are going to prosecute a guy that calls a friend to score a doob as a "continuing criminal conspiracy" under RICO statutes, you don't have the resources left to deal with this kind of continuing fraud. It's one of the major reasons it exists.

The lawmakers never seem to create a crime, where there was none before, without allowing what has always been crime, as business as usual. Sizemore is simply a conman. He plays it like the leg. it. The courts have been smart. He could have continued all this, unobstructed, by going the religion route. This is very good jurisprudence.
