Goodbye, Michael.

At age 50, Michael Jackson has passed away. There's more at the L.A. Times.

    Arde in regnum phasmatis Michael.

It's so sad...a tragic and unfortunate genius.

Yea, despite the fact that he had short eyes, he was indeed an artistic genius we are not likely to see the likes of again in our lifetimes.

Go rule the spirits? Or was there a more hostile intent Boats?

I'm sorry, I feel no sadness about this at all. Yes, he was a musical genius, but then he became a freak and perhaps a pedophile. Now, Farrah Fawcett's passing? That is worthy of a moment of silence and reflection.

Well, I guess I'll out myself as a Michael Jackson fan. I'll probably be listening to nothing but Michael for the next week or so.

I've been pleased to see both BET and MTV Jams (Comcast channel 475) have been playing his videos (full length!) non-stop. And not just the ones you'd expect - a number of obscure videos from the last few albums that probably haven't been aired (in the U.S. at least) since the week they were originally released.

I'll always remember the first time I got access to the Internet (Compuserve!). One of the first things I did was find Michael Jackson discussion groups. Of course even then we had to fight off the trolls who got off on pissing on everyone's parade.

Classy move to talk s*** about someone they day they die.

I suspect I'm too young to really understand Michael Jackson's influence on pop culture. I'm not a particularly big fan beyond appreciating some of his songs as good party music. But I never understand why when someone famous dies there's always a few randos who show up and make some snide comments online. I don't know whether or not Michael Jackson was a pedophile, and neither do you, and I certainly don't condone it if he was. But you'd think that this would be as good of a time as ever to appreciate the good he did in his life. He grew from being physically and mentally abused as a child to become one of the most successful musicians of all time. During the early 90's he tried to take away some of the social stigma surrounding AIDs and called on Clinton to better fund AIDs research and charities at his inauguration. He raised and gave hundreds of millions of dollars to charity (supposedly $300,000,000), including all the profits from his tours after Thriller and Dangerous. He organized and/or performed in benefit concerts for a number of causes. In 2000 he was put into the Guinness Book of World Records for most charities supported by an entertainer. Yes, he was obviously eccentric, to say the least. But he also used his success to do a lot of good in the world.

R.I.P. Michael. Thank you for giving us your music, and thank you for being a genuine soul that you were. I am gutted that you are gone, but happy that lived in this time, so I did get a little piece of your world with the music you created. You will be deeply missed... And I am sorry about all the haters. I apologize on their behalf that made your life miserable, and even in death they will not leave you alone. They take time of their life to comment on someone they hate, well that requires serious medical attention. No person in their right state of mind will trash person in such a despicable way. Despite all of that, their comments are voided by the positive ones and they look stupid. The whole world mourns you, but haters are haters. they probably never lost anyone in their family and they don't know how it feels. today, somebody lost their son, brother and father. And you keep on trashing. Karma is not a nice thing, think about it. Unless they were directly involved or molested by M.J. haters should shut the ---- up. If my child was molested i wouldn't need 20 mill dollars, i would want the man assassinated. Haters and money diggers.

Michael thank you for your music . You are Farah are free of all the pain. Invincible....God bless and condolences to your family and fans all around the world.

There is plenty of Michael Jackson worship out there these days, but only one song that gives Michael Jackson his due props without trying to hide the elephant in the room. It was penned by a psychologist. It was recorded by a singer/songwriter. They are the same person, namely, me, Dr BLT

    Sample the song here: http://www.drblt.net/music/GoodbyMJFinalDemom.mp3

Hear the whole thing at my myspace page http://www.myspace.com/drbltrocks
