Oregon schools Superintendent Castillo resigns

In the midst of a massive shakeup of the state's education system, Oregon schools Superintendent Susan Castillo announced Monday she will leave her post at the end of the month.

Castillo was first elected in 2003 and is in her third term as superintendent, a non-partisan elected position. The position will go away at the end of the 2013-14 academic year as a result of reform efforts led by Gov. John Kitzhaber.
