Ben Cannon: "I'd much rather talk to 300 voters than write a check for $750."
He's a 6-foot-6 Rhodes Scholar, so, yeah, you'd expect Ben Cannon to have a different angle on politics. He proved that anew Tuesday when, in a relaxed evening at Cooper's Coffee on Southeast Stark, the Portland Democrat finally earned his free pass into the 2010 Oregon Voter's Pamphlet.
Cannon -- who has never accepted PAC money -- didn't spend a great deal of money while running unopposed in his 2008 re-election campaign, but he was forced to fork over $750 to post a statement in the Voter's Pamphlet.
