Wyden visits Florence to discuss tsunami debris

Oregon Senator Ron Wyden will visit Honeyman State Park on Friday, August 31, 2012, to discuss the problem of tsunami debris with federal, state and local officials.Wyden's office convened some of the first meetings on the coast to discuss concerns about debris from the March 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami and the threat it poses to tourism, commercial fishing and shipping.The 10 a.m. meeting at the park office will include the mayor of Florence and officials of Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. Siuslaw National Forest and the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.
