Hales, conservationists bicker over endorsement interview

Portland Business Journal:

The Oregon League of Conservation Voters said Portland mayoral candidate Charlie Hales’ campaign committed “a tremendous breach of trust” by recording and possibly releasing recordings of the group’s candidate endorsement interviews.

The League considered the interviews to be confidential.

The newspaper Willamette Week released a story that contained an audio snippet of Jefferson Smith, Hales’ opponent, floating an idea during his OLCV interview on ways to improve city streets and sidewalks.…
