Merkley and Cantwell examine banking crisis; remember Enron

Almost two years after the U.S. financial system broke apart painfully — not to say expensively — the Senate is starting to think about how to fix it. But to U.S. senators from the West Coast, the crisis is actually something we could have started working on nine years ago. “The bottom line,” Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., said last week, “is it’s very similar to what happened to us with Enron.”
