Casino backers pull out, Kennel Club back in play
The former Multnomah Kennel Club apparently is looking for a new purpose after backers of The Grange, a proposed $300 million casino, pulled the plug on a glossy campaign to convince Oregon voters to amend the state constitution to permit private gaming.
Ballot Measures 82 and 83 remain on the ballot, but election watchers give it little chance of passing.
The project would have been cosntructed by Andersen Construction and J.E. Dunn.
