Hales joins anti-gun mayors group

Portland Business Journal:

Portland’s new mayor has joined a group calling for an end to gun violence.

“We have to get angry. And we have to stay angry,” said Charlie Hales, who’s joined the group Mayors Against Illegal Guns. Hales is one of 800 mayors who’s signed on to the group, which formed in 2006.

“Gun violence is not acceptable,” Hales said in a statement. “We need action now.”

Hales will talk about the group and the gun issue at a Monday morning press conference.
