Metro seeks $12M from state for HQ hotel

Portland Business Journal:

Supporters of a Hyatt-flagged hotel at the Oregon Convention Center confirmed they are seeking state support for the project.

Metro officials disclosed this week that they asked lawmakers to provide financial support to construct a 600-room hotel that supporters say is badly needed to bring in more convention and meeting business.

The long-delayed project was restarted in late 2011 on a pledge to minimize the need for public subsidies.
