Suddenly, the November election looks very different. Unions will be free to devote more of their efforts to help their friends in the Legislature and assure Kitzhaber's re-election. And the business community will not have to mobilize to defeat tax measures of the kind they battled and lost in 2010 with measures 66 and 67.
