Sen. Ron Wyden to lecture in Portland on national security, liberty and 'the surveillance state'

U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden will appear at a Portland church on Tuesday evening to deliver a lecture provocatively titled, "National Security, Civil Liberties and the Surveillance State."

Wyden is one of the nation's leading voices on the natural tension between U.S. needs to protect itself from its enemies and the civil rights of ordinary Americans who fall under government surveillance.
