Senate passes contentious Clean Fuels measure, bill goes to Oregon House

Oregon's legislature is halfway done passing a much-debated environmental measure.

Senate Bill 324, which would extend Oregon's Clean Fuels Act, passed the chamber on a 17-13 vote, with only Democrat Betsy Johnson voting against others in her party. The measure now goes to the Oregon House.

The measure would extend the 2009 Clean Fuels Act, which included a sunset date of Dec. 31, 2015, should it not be implemented by the Department of Environmental Quality by that time. It hasn't yet been implemented.
