Earned time at prisons saved state $25 million in 2009

Statesman-Journal:

Oregon's "earned time" early-release program for state prison inmates saved an estimated $25 million in the 2009 fiscal year, according to a new audit by the Secretary of State.

Auditors determined that the Department of Corrections complied with state rules and statutes in administering the program.

But they also called for improvements.
