Wyden's beer and wine bill looks to lighten sector's tax load

Oregon's senior senator has introduced legislation that would reform taxes on craft brewers, cider makers, vintners and distillers.

Democrat Ron Wyden said Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act looks to tweak such provisions as excise taxes on many beverages produced in Oregon .

Such industries provide jobs to 40,000 Oregonians and generate some $6 billion in annual revenue.
