Marijuana will be legal to possess in Oregon in less than a week, but there won't be anywhere to buy it.
Legally, at least.
In an effort to avoid a run on the black market — and the state missing an opportunity to collect taxes — lawmakers in Salem have drawn up an amendment to the legal pot law to allow the sale of cannabis as early as October 1.
