Bonamici, Jefferson Smith and John Kitzhaber (2014) win Oregon Democratic straw poll
A group of legislative staffers started a straw poll in 2005 to coincide with the biennial Oregon Summit held by the Democratic Party of Oregon.
Like all straw polls, it's far from a scientific sampling of voter opinion. But Stacey Dycus, a political consultant who helps organize the straw poll, said it's turned out to have an excellent track record of predicting actual election results.
