Cogen wants Bisphenol A banned in county

Portland Business Journal:

Multnomah County Chair Jeff Cogen has proposed a countywide ban on Bisphenol A.

The substance is found in many beverage containers, including baby bottles and child sippy cups, and many believe it can cause developmental health problems.

The Multnomah County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the issue at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at its headquarters, 501 S.E. Hawthorne St.

Another hearing will be held at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 27.
