Bonamici returns First District's love

Even if she hadn’t won last night’s First District special Congressional election, Suzanne Bonamici at least came out of the campaign with a newfound love for her region.

“It’s a very diverse district. It’s very vibrant,” said Bonamici, a Democrat from Beaverton who captured 54 percent of the vote to beat Republican Rob Cornilles by 14 percentage points. “Yamhill County is beautiful, Columbia and Clatsop counties are great. I love this district.”
