Jason Atkinson to leave Oregon Senate

One of Oregon’s longest-serving state senators said Tuesday he won’t seek reelection.

Sen. Jason Atkinson, a Central Point Republican, said he didn’t rule out returning to public office in the future. A release issued by Atkinson and the Senate Republicans’ office didn’t give a reason for Atkinson's decision to leave the Senate after 14 years.
