Thank you, BlueOregon

Welcometoblueoregon_1Just a little note to commemorate a first at BlueOregon: During the month of October, we served up just over 100,000 pages to our readers - with nearly 55,000 daily visits. We believe we're getting an average of 1500+ people coming by every weekday (though it's impossible to truly know.) See the stats here.

Thank you. It's gratifying to know that so many Oregonians are finding BlueOregon - and finding it meaningful.

A minor favor, if we can be so bold: Today, tell one person about BlueOregon. Believe it or not, not everyone has gotten the inside scoop yet.

    Kari and crew,

I just want to say thank you. You guys do a great job and this is the best political discussion I have ever had on a sustained basis. Moreover, for the most part, the level of writing by both editors and responders is superior to any other publication in the state.

In addition to the normal complaints about a lack of political coverage in the Oregonian, I am continually disappointed by the quality of the writing in the newspaper and the 6th grade level of discourse. It's nice to be able to read in Blue Oregon, thoughts of substance that are well presented. I even like to read comments from our red visitors when they put together thoughtful critiques.

    Kari,

No one else seems interested in this post, but I wanted to add how Blue Oregon now helps us get the word out. At the Democratic Summit in Bend we had a workshop on organizing the religious left. Courtney Dillard wrote a blog about it in Blue Oregon that generated a lot of discussion. This got picked up by Thom Hartman on KPOJ. As a result there was also an article in the Oregonian. That article was picked up by Sojourners, a national journal and organization about the religious left. Without Blue Oregon I doubt all of that would have happened.

The addition of Blue Oregon and Air America has allowed us to finally impact both local and national media in a way not possible two years ago.

I, too, am grateful for the writers and responders here.

Except for the few and obvious trolls, this site provides me with much better intellectual discourse and discussion that the "O" ever could imagine providing and that is otherwise available in my regular day.

Thank you Kari and all at BlueOregon.

    Randy
