Karl Rove is coming! Karl Rove is coming!

Rove_and_bushFrom the O:

Karl Rove, reviled by Democrats but viewed as a canny strategist by Republicans, will be in Portland next week, attending a fundraiser for the state Republican Party and its Washington County branch.

Details of the visit were not available. Shawn Cleave, spokesman for the state party, said Rove is scheduled to come Friday. He said the visit will be open to donors and to the news media.

Just last week, his appearance at American University sparked a protest.

For once, being a member of the news media pays off. Thanks for the tip.

Karl "Turdblossom" Rove is coming to town -- stock up on rotten eggs and decayed tomatoes!

So RepugniCONs still think Turdblossom is "a canny strategist"? Here's the kind of "canny strategist" he is:

Thanks to his canny strategy, a president with a 96 percent approval rating has become a president with a 33 percent approval rating.

Thanks to his canny strategy, the RepugniCONs lost both houses of Congress.

Thanks to his canny strategy, fewer Americans are identifying themselves as RepugniCONs now than at any time in the past 30 years.

Thanks to his canny strategy, the Democrats seem all but certain to win the presidency and increase their majorities in the House and Senate in 2008.

I sure hope the RepugniCONs have a lot more "canny strategists" like Karl "Turdblossom" Rove.

Contrast Rove with that mental giant Pelosi

Nancy and her entourage lunch with Assad. The take from Lebanon: http://www.dailystar.com.lb/article.asp?edition_id=1&categ_id=5&article_id=81211#

    And from Thomas Sowell: http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070407/OPINION03/704070317

    Truly amazing.

Wow! Rove announces his visit in advance! I'm impressed.

Gordon Smith on the other hand took advantage of the Congressional Recess to sneak out of Pendelton last Wednesday to address the Chamber of Commerce in the Dalles, open a Safe House at an undisclosed location in Washington County, and look at a landslide in Astoria. Of course there was no announcement of his activities either in the media or on his web site. Way to hide, Gordon!

Ron Wyden scheduled 6 Town Hall Meetings in Eastern Oregon, all posted on his web site. And he's not even running for office next year!

Wouldn't a visit from Rove violate a DEQ standard?

Would it be really unprofessional to share that my first gut reaction to this posting was "Ewww!Ewww!"?

As for Smith, I don't get him. He is one of the primary sponsors of the current hate crimes legislation, but a Republican yes man. I think that is the thing I would have reservations about the most. You really have no idea which way he is going to go on something, unless, I guess, you watch the wind forecast? I don't know.

Time for the professional protesters and graying hippies to gather pitchforks and torches. If they hurt your thumb, there may even be a police lawsuit in there somewhere.

Hey..if anyone is organizing a protest let me know. Even though I'm not currently living there in Oregon, I'll send you some money for some eggs to throw at him.
