Sexiest Vegetarian Alive?
A trainee for the Portland Fire Department is a finalist in PETA's "Sexiest Vegetarian Alive". Says KGW:
After the first round of votes, 27-year-old Portland resident Isaac Hart beat out hundreds of other entrants from across the U-S and Canada to become one of ten male finalists.Hart is training to be a firefighter with the Portland Fire Department. Since going vegan, Hart reports, he has gained muscle and lost fat. He says his energy level is as high as it was when he was a kid.
KGW failed to mention one item from Isaac's bio:
Isaac lists Rep. Dennis Kucinich as his top vegan role model.
To see the rest of the finalists - and to vote - head on over to GoVeg.com. Vote early, vote often!

Why give PETA the free press?
PETA put together this contest just to get press. KGW pretty much cut and pasted their press release in covering it.
Talk about a free ad for PETA:
"Since going vegan, Hart reports, he has gained muscle and lost fat. He says his energy level is as high as it was when he was a kid."
How very scientific and completely full of.....spin!
Not news and not worth discussion here.

Hey, there are worse things to publicise. When Kari starts publishing White House news releases verbatim, I'll be concerned. But cute veggie fire fighters? It's a nice break from saving the world. Bring 'em on.
