Two Days Out: Open Discussion

With just two days to go until the primary election, there's news breaking every hour it seems. Use this post to post links to news stories, make comments, and discuss anything you want.

(One request: If there's another recent post that's more appropriate, comment there. Let's use this space to talk about campaigns that aren't getting enough coverage. We're looking at you, people obsessed with Merkley/Novick and Obama/Clinton.)

Only two more days Audrey... can you feel it?

I am sure Audrey will be posting any minute, so I'll get it started for her.

Hillary is the most electable candidate, even though she has lost more states, lost more votes, and more delegates. The reason people aren't voting for her is because she is so frickn electable.

And the flip side, Obama has won so many more states, more votes, and more delegates that he has become the status quo in a change year.

    blah blah blah blah

Are we in a time warp or something? I didn't know 2 days = 6 days.

Or are we getting a little sloppy with the cut-n-paste, editors?

Multiple ballots. Last night I had dinner with some friends: one had received three ballots. The other had two. I also got two, probably because I changed my party from unaffiliated to Democrat just before the cut-off. But I wonder how many others are getting multiple ballots?

google search these four words together and read.

    "Raila Odinga Barack Obama"

I used to think that Obama was the choice as the Democratic candidate to win, but now I think Obama is the right choice to go against the Republicans for the Republican win.

    This is important.

    Kathy,

I was going to vote for Obama but I saw this video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejTmistHFw0

The Hon. James David Manning is right on! You should go to every blog and post the link to this video. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP OBAMA... the man from hell who has gay sex with Rev. Wright.

(Or you could turn on your brain and stop believing in conspiracy theories.)

If anybody cares, unless you are really into the McCain-Bush-Rudy G. school of foreign policy, Raila Odinga is not generally considered part of the "global Jihad." Odinga was a pro-democracy revolutionary during Kenya's dictatorship (for which he was jailed in the 1980's), but not an Islamic Revolutionary a la Iran. The connection to "global (9/11) Jihad (vote Rudy)" was a deal he signed with a Muslim political party, promising to end discrimination against Muslims in return for electoral support. He is not conected to Obama, Obama is simply very popular in Kenya, so many politicians claim to be "a cousin of Obama" to gain electoral support.

There's TWO Merkley ads on Rawstory: You guys DO know that only Oregonians vote in the primary, right?

Or is that your attempt at gaining national exposure?

Don't be fooled by this merchandising of a candidate. Bush-Cheney have been covertly promoting Obama since 2004, when the Illinois G.O.P. rigged his senate election. And notice how Bush came out with that timely "attack" on Obama this past week, just as Democrats were getting worried about his ability to get white votes in swing states. Now we see everyone rallying around Obama and ignoring Clinton - exactly the goal intended. Really, does anyone think Karl Rove and his minions are sitting this election out? With all those crimes pending against them, you think they're going to take their chances with whoever becomes president? I don't think o. As for the corporate-owned media, it kind of follows that they have their own interest in who gets elected. NBC's Andrea Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan, who created this economic mess we're in. Read the play, Enemy of the People, if you want to sort out what's going on here. "With all those crimes pending against them"

What are you smoking? The "ic" party has controlled congress for how long and not a single count of impeachment? Get over it, the folks that told you there were crimes used you and your emotions to their ends -- and, you liked it.

Ha ha ha at you, silly little "minion".

I'm a progressive. I support Clinton, who’s the only candidate with a truly universal healthcare plan, where the insurance companies can’t deny you care if you have a pre-existing condition. I don't like Obama's associations with slumlord Rezko and "ex-gay" gospel singer Donnie McClurkin. Maybe I'd like Obama better if he'd called off the most misogynistic of his followers. But what was his response to the "Bros Before Hoes" T-shirt? Or Randi Rhodes's vile comments at the fundraiser? Did he make any sort of public announcement, say anything like, "Hey, knock it off, I want this to be a fair fight"? No, he didn't say a blessed word.

And no, he's not above "politics as usual." He's trying to buy superdelegates. Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is a recent example -- she has received $9000 from Obama's campaign.

Hillary Clinton won Pennsylvania, where, by the most conservative estimates, Obama outspent her 3 to 1. She narrowed the gap in North Carolina. Indiana was close, but she won that one while being outspent yet again. Last week in WV, she crushed Obama in a 41-point landslide. And then there was Michigan, Florida, and Ohio. All of these are key swing states. And all of which she won with the incredibly biased, unprofessional mainstream media in the tank for Obama. She can beat McCain in November.

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?

A: He was scared of a moderator-free debate on Oregon issues with Hillary Clinton.

Green jobs and universal health care. Hillary Clinton 2008!

    Thanks, An Oregon voter

Voters DO NOT Approve of Obama's Handling of Wright and his other radical relationships...

To simply denounce and reject a man and "distance" himself from Wright, who taught, trained and mentored Obama for 20 long years is hardly sufficient. WHY DID HE CHOOSE THIS MAN TO MENTOR HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE AND STAY WITH HIM SO LONG?

What about Willaim Ayers, and Bernadine Dohrn, both proud terrorists, who they chummed around with at the University of Chicago 20 years ago, who live in their neighborhood, and who hosted Obama's first fundraiser for the presidency? Is he going to simply denounce and reject them too? Hardly enough. WHY DID HE AND MICHELLE CHOOSE THESE TWO PARTICULAR PEOPLE TO BE THEIR LONG TIME FRIENDS? THEY ARE TERRORISTS FOR GOD'S SAKE...

What about Rashid Khalidi, a known PLO Operative, also part of the Barrack, Michelle, Ayers and Dohrn inner circle at University of Chicago, and who are still friends. WHY DID HE AND MICHELLE ALSO CHOOSE THIS MAN TO BE IN THEIR INNER CIRCLE?

Why was Obama's Advisor working directly with Hamas last week? Why wasn't the fact that Obama's Advisor was fired for working with Hamas last week in the headlines? Another terrorist group, another connection...

WHAT'S OBAMA GONNA DO, DENOUNCE, REJECT AND "DISTANCE" HIMSELF FROM ALL OF THESE PEOPLE AND THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE?? I DON'T THINK SO...

And apparently no one gives a damn about his relationship with Rezko and the others either. And the list goes on with even more strange and radical associations with Obama and his wife, but we are supposed to ignore Obama's many radical and unusual associations, and ignore his extremely thin resume and turn our country over to a virtual inexperienced unknown. I THINK THAT'S ABSOLUTELY CRAZY...

Did you ever stop to wonder why all your talking points are attacking people who aren't in the race? I think it's "absolutely crazy" to think America's going to pay attention to your six-degrees-of-Kevin-Bacon just because you've got nothing on the man himself.

    Bob T:

The trend has been towards Hillary. But Obama will get the nomination because the primaries were scheduled so early that enough states had them before light could shine on what was on the other side of the cardboard cut-out called Obama. Note that after more came out about Obama and the gushing and fawning wasn't enough, Hillary started doing better than her opponent.

People deserved better news coverage than the "Oh, I touched him!" and "He looked at me!" garbage that followed Obama around.

That certainly isn't on my list of things to do today.

Maybe you should spend some time learning about snark.
