President nominates new U.S. Attorney, marshal for Oregon

Oregonian:

President Barack Obama on Wednesday nominated a lawyer for the Oregon's Department of Justice as the state's top federal prosecutor and the sheriff of Lane County as its new U.S. marshal.

If confirmed, Amanda Marshall will replace Dwight C. Holton, who was named as Oregon's interim U.S. attorney in February.

Marshall was picked as one of three finalists for the position by a panel appointed by Oregon Sens. Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley after Obama took office in 2009.

Other candidates were Clatsop County District Attorney Josh Marquis and Kent Robinson, a federal prosecutor who filled in as boss after U.S. Attorney Karin Immergut was appointed as a Multnomah County Circuit Court judge.

Sheriff Russel E. Burger, who was born in Oregon but began his career in law enforcement in California, would take over for Oregon's acting U.S. marshal, William Knaust, if confirmed.

My husband & I were voted as delegates for CD5. I've been voting as a Democrat since the age of (8). Don't ask me how, becuase thats the way Chicago works. And don't be hating! Now where are the jobs Republicans? All talk and no action. They don't know where to start. But wait, Republicans say, let's start with raisning taxes for everyone. But wait, with the republicans, the more you make the less you pay. The less you make the more you pay. How ass-backwards is that? How do you pay taxes for the few, and not working because all or most jobs we use to have go eleswhere? Where are the jobs Mr. Bainer?
