Kitzhaber makes Rose Bowl wager with Wisconsin Governor

KOIN:

Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker have agreed to a friendly wager over Monday’s Rose Bowl. If the Oregon Ducks win, Walker will send over a package of Wisconsin products that include Leinenkugel's beer, Wisconsin cheese, a package of Andes mints and a bottle of Blushing Rose Wine from Wollersheim Winery.A Wisconsin Badgers victory means Kitzhaber will send over a selection of Oregon beers, Kettle Chips, Oregon Hazelnuts and Oregon Smoked King Salmon.  “On Monday, in their third consecutive BCS appearance, the Ducks will show Wisconsin what they are made of," Kitzhaber said in a statement. “I can’t wait to watch Oregon do what it does best- come together as a team to get the job done. The Badgers are a quality team, and it is a great Rose Bowl matchup, but I’m looking forward to collecting on Governor Walker’s generous bet.”Kickoff for the 98th Rose Bowl is set for 2 p.m.

This is an underachiever's bet. How about a bet that can be shared with the entire (winning) state?
When I was 8 years old and my father worked at Penn State, the Governor of Pennsylvania bet a giant evergreen tree against a live Kansas bull put up by the Governor of Kansas, prior to the Kansas/Penn State Orange Bowl!
When Penn State won 15-14, the first-ever bull to take up residence in the State of Pennsylvania moved into a pen on the agricultural studies farm on the Penn State campus. He became an immediate star attraction for visitors to the farm.
Maybe Gov. Kitzhaber could put up a 30-year-old Douglas Fir against, say, one acre of Wisconsin vineyard starts that will take up residence in the Yamhill Valley when the Ducks kick the Badgers ass!!
