Name that Bush Scandal
Wanted: Nicknames such as (but better than) 'Monicagate' to describe the scandals of the Bush Administration.
Portlander Jon Perr is giving up an iPod and several Amazon gift certificates (one of $50 USD, and several more of $25) to various winners of such awards as the:
- George W. Bush: "An Apple Mini-iPod goes to the person with the best overall list of names for all 10 scandals. By constantly playing your iPod, you’ll be able, like the President himself, to hear no evil over the four years."
- Michael Powell: "A $25 gift certificate goes to the most tasteless scandal moniker which can be announced over the public airwaves without incurring a fine from the FCC."
- Bernard Kerik: "A $25 gift certificate goes to the person whose humorous scandal name is the biggest joke of all."

I'm a Bush supporter, but I'll play along:
* Dr. Stranglehold (Or How I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love Saddam) -- For the whole Mess-o-potamia, as Jon Stewart calls it. Or maybe a less similar name, like Dr. Quagmire.
If I get bored, more later.

Wow all you liberals can't even come close to the creativity of Schopp's names.
He's better at pretending to be a liberal than you all are at actually being one!

Jon at Perrspectives here.
Thanks for all of the great suggestions for the "Name That Bush Scandal" Contest so far.
We'll be picking the winners on Inauguration Day (January 20th), so there's still plenty of time to send in as many entries as you'd like. As the GOP says in Florida, vote early and vote often!
So remember, don't let the gloom of Bush's second inauguration get you down:
Play the "Name That Bush Scandal" Contest!
You could win an Apple Mini-iPod and other great prizes. Best of all, you can have fun at George W. Bush's expense, since the next four years will come at yours.

"Name That Bush Scandal" Contest Winners
To commemorate the Second Inauguration of President George W. Bush, Perrspectives is pleased to announce the winners of the "Name That Bush Scandal" Contest which concluded at noon EST, January 20, 2005.
Perrspectives received entries from all over the United States (and the world, for that matter). We'd like to thank everyone who participated for their creativity, spirit, energy and, given the election results, understandable angst. But while America may be the place where , to quote President Bush, "wings take dream", unfortunately only a select few can be recognized as winners.
...
The Award Winners
Perrspectives is pleased to announce the award winners, the newest members of George W. Bush's "Ownership Society":
The George W. Bush Award: Jeff (Minnesota)
Jeff wins an Apple Mini-iPod for providing the best overall list of names for all 10 scandals listed below. His entries included
"Premature Emancipation" (Bush's USS Abraham Lincoln "Mission Accomplished" speech),
"Whack-a-Mole" (Valerie Plame CIA outing),
"Rice Cake" (bogus Niger uranium claims),
"Medicon" (the assorted Medicare reform frauds) and
"If the Superscripts Don't Fit, You Must Acquit" (Bush National Guard records).
...
The Bernard Kerik Award: Steve (Oregon)
Another $25 gift certificate goes to Steve for the biggest joke and perhaps most apt suggestion of all, "George of the Bungle."

The bottom line is the G.W. Bush administration is anti american. Or perhaps the Bush family of politicians is anti american. Savings and Loan scandal, Iran Contra, WMD's and I'll leave the rest to anyone who wants to begin this long list. How about the Patriot Act?
