Out of the mouths of babes! {Oops! Dubya Bruce got me on a biblical quoting track sorry.}
This is truly an exquisite summary of our national policy toward our neighbors and the world at large. The day will soon come when we won't have a friend in the world and we will be overrun by the Chinese. They will be throwing our junk back at us in the form of munitions, just as Japan had turned our scrap metal into their Zero fighter planes 60 years ago.

I know Bolton. I worked with Bolton. Bolton is a bully, with bad breath to boot!
Keep up the good work, Brendan, and someday maybe you can take over for Ohman at Big O.

Where are the Cartoons of Hillary coming out? I mean she is more abusive than Bolton, remember all the firing of the White House travel staff then had criminals charges brought against them. If that isn't being the bully, what isn't. This is the possible future Presidential candidate, you want her negotiating with heads of state?

I keep seeing where some conservatives have set up this Hillary Clinton objectivity standard: If the media doesn't criticize Hillary, then it's not objective. Hooey.
All the crusades against the Clintons during Bill's White House years were nothing but vendetta-driven hogwash, K. Sudbury. Kenneth Star spent millions and millions of dollars on harassing the Clintons, and -- criminal charges and all -- nothing really came of it. So what if Hillary runs for president? No woman has ever won, not in the entire history of our great (democratic?) nation. So I don't see why you -- and the other anti-Hillary neocons -- are worried about her apparently-impending candidacy.
In fact, any Southerner who can relocate to New Yahrk and convince the people there to elect her to office must be a remarkable person. It's obvious that Hillary would probably make a FAR BETTER UN representative for the United States than Bolton. And a far better president than Dingus Bush II. Of course, a chimpanzee would make a better president than Dingus. No offense, chimps.
K. Sudbury, stop thinking like a puppet and stop waving Hillary Clinton around like a baseball bat. Cartoon Boy scores another one for common sense.

Ahh, yes. The typical Progressive liberal montra.
No real answers, just name-calling and bitching about Bush. Congratulations.
And here I hoped BlueOregon.com would be different.

This is a great example of what I've been wittering on about, that you can expose all the goons you want, but it isn't making a difference. And that we are about to go to war with Iran.
Noticed who's back talking up an Israeli-lead attack against Iranian nuclear facilities? What architect of Operation Opera has been meeting with Israeli heads of State all week? Which "policy" office in the White House is currently preparing an argument that says "we had to hit Iran with cruise missles from the Gulf, so that Israel didn't use tactical nukes"? Who's mining the Straits of Hormuz?
You can discredit all you like, and they aren't just not going away, it's not diverting their agenda one iota.
All this distraction with stupid Shrub. Yeah, let's think of 36 ways to leave your President. How about one way to not do every last thing, every damned day, that big energy wants you to? McCain's unelectable. In what world? You really believe the administration isn't going to make things as crazy as need be to make McCain seem a sane answer?
If you do not have a concrete action plan for that day, that moment, something tangible you WILL ACTUALLY GET UP AND DO, then at least admit that you like causing this chaos!
Slow news week. We are a few weeks from the long anticipated 21st century energy fueled mid-east chaos that will REALLY change the rest of our lives, not like 9/11. Like the plague, more, and look at the topics that were worthy of posts this week.
Think local. Fantasize action, I guess. "Local" is going to be a very nice, very nostalgic word before too much longer, alas. I don't even want to try to imagine what China's contingency plan is. Somehow I don't think they're going to bend over like Westerners when this gets really interesting. And anything China does Russia has to have a stance about. Oh, haven't the energy powers that be mentioned that bit yet? They're just going to raid world energy supplies. It's up to you to deal with the other issues. That's your job. You work for them. And like the mob, you may not remember joining, but you definitely can't quit.
