RIP, Communique
Kari Chisholm
Over the Portland Communique, The One True b!X has finally shut things down.
The doors are closed. The editor is out.
He's also, by the way, looking for work.
From the very first editorial he submitted to me at the old X-PAC website in 1999 ("Vote or Die"), to his more recent coverage of the 2004 mayoral election and the fight over the JTTF and more, his commentary has always been smart, biting, detailed, broad-ranging and spot-on.
Christopher, your password here at BlueOregon is still good. I hope you'll use it now and again.

Who is this "Chris" person? ;)
(Seriously, though, even when people actually knew me as Christopher because I didn't yet have other names, it was never "Chris" then either. Heh.)

This is HORRIBLE news for indie, experimental media and for followers of Rose City news. We should go down to the Lucky Lab and hold a wake.
RIP, Communique--we hardly knew ye.

Sorry, b!X, I have a terrible habit of shortening people's names. Maybe it comes from not having a nickname-able name.

Actually, I just chalk it up to retribution for once upon a time making the "Kari must be a girl" mistake. ;)
