OR-5: Erickson hits back at Mannix
open discussion

While Mike Erickson continues to evade and ignore the allegations against him, he's now responded on the air with an attack ad on Kevin Mannix.

Which of these two sleazeballs will be easier to defeat in the fall?

Discuss.

As I pointed out on the Open Thread post... Carl Wolfson innocently conflated "Kevin Mannix" and "Mike Erickson" on the air this morning and it came out "Kevin Erickson."

I just about peed my pants I was laughing so hard!

Isn't "Kevin Erickson" just about the most brilliant (however unwittingly) and succinct summation of the Oregon GOP?

It was a beautiful way to start my day... ;-)

I'd only add:

"Kevin Erickson, Ph.D."

Wow, in before NW Republican again. You guys broke the original hit piece prior to NW Republican and you guys now have the response the latest.

Good work.

Remember back in the dark old days of about 2002, when Dems were ridiculed and chided by the GOP for their constant self-inflicted wounds? Nice to see the tables have turned. And I don't ever recall Dems hurting each other this badly. The Karl Rove id of the party is now turning in on itself.

Schadenfruede, anyone?

I hope our Dem candidates will take note of this and change their tunes, so it is the R's who are the infighting children and the Dems are the ones focused on issues and defeating their REAL opponents.
Of course I also hope it will rain $100 bills in my backyard every Sunday morning....

It's almost a pity the primary's so soon. These two could do each other some pretty serious damage.

Then again, I'm tired of waiting for a Senate nominee, I don't care which one, to emerge so I can start working on that campaign.

Aye, aye, Admira!

Gayle Atteberry, Executive Director of Oregon Right to Life, which endorsed Mannix in the race, said that Erickson admitted to her and two others that he gave the young woman money and dropped her at a “doctor’s office.”

OUCH

TR,

And we are to believe Atteberry? It's ludicrous that Erickson would tell Oregon Right to Life something like this.

bold

I hope Erickson buys himself the nomination (and bankrupts himself in the process). Mannix may be a sleaze, but he's a smooth slreze...and he's carried the 5th CD every time he's run statewide. Of course, the recent registration surge has brought Ds into the majority in the district for the first time, so let's hope neither has a prayer in November.
