Word on the street: Stick a fork in Sizemore, he's done.

Carla Axtman

SizemoremugshotI've recently learned through back channels (two sources, both anonymous) that perennial ballot measure racketeer Bill Sizemore has been given the kiss off by his two main benefactors: Loren Parks and Dick Wendt.

Sizemore had been hired to do "consulting" (whatever that means) through what Jeff Mapes called a Wendt funded think tank known as Hire Calling. More on that entity from Becky at Preemptive Karma here.

The scuttle (read: rumor) is that Wendt has fired Sizemore and that Bill is relocating to Redmond.

And what of Loren Parks? Emails exchanged between Parks and Sizemore apparently indicate in no uncertain terms that Parks will no longer be cutting checks for Sizemore's activities.

In related news, Sizemore is scheduled today for a mid-afternoon appearance in Judge Wilson's courtroom at Multnomah County Courthouse.  Stay tuned.

Good work. Do keep us posted.

  • (Show?)

From your lips to god's ear....

  • (Show?)

Please, please don't get our hopes up and then dash them with a "no truth to the rumor" update. I want to believe this.

  • (Show?)

Now if only MCDA and Kroger were as interested in Sizemore's lies as they are Sam Adams'...

  • (Show?)

    appreciate this news, thanks.

  • (Show?)

Sizemore's just a tool. I'm sure that Loren Parks and his buddies feel Sizemore's time is up that they can find someone equally willing to take their money and push their agenda.

  • (Show?)

I do not necessarily consider this good news. Parks and Wendt are the real villains who have been destroying Oregon these last 20 years. Sizemore was merely the inept stooge they picked to do their dirty work.

It will be all well and good if the money men truly retire, but if they simply pick some new unknown pretty face to pick up where Sizemore left off, we'll have to start the public reeducation all over again.

It is my fervent wish that both Sizemore and Adams ride off into the sunset, never to be heard from again. Oregon would be better for it.

  • (Show?)

Once again Steve Maurer hits the nail on the head. The upside to Sizemore having become a household name is, it alone is enough to rally enough backlash opposition against anything he touches that these Parks/Wendt ballot measure disasters go down to defeat.

Without the "marque" name of Sizemore as anvil around the metaphorical neck of these odious measures, it will be harder to easily rally opposition to the almost uniformly horrific measures these ass-clowns push onto the ballot on a yearly basis.

Expect to see the same turds in a different package and without the name Sizemore to short-hand it to voters, and the climb to defeat them just got a little steeper without the already tainted name of Sizemore attached to them.

It is like we have lost our own Blagojevich of ballot measures which makes anything he touches toxic.

  • (Show?)

This is great news. Oregonians may soon see a new a shiny initiative system that actually belongs to them. The word on the street is that folks in the legislature are working on a plan to fix the system and with Sizemore gone, we may see more good done than bad.

Also, I have to agree with TJ on this one. Kroger should be focusing on the real criminals in this state. At the risk of starting up a whole new conversation regarding Sam's actions. In my opinion, a guy that lies to all Oregonians and tries to bankrupt this state is far more in need of investigation, than a guy who lies about his personal life.

Sizemore's gone and Sam Adams is still in power - this is political Nirvana!

    Carla,

    I have a couple questions:

    1. Redmond, OR or Redmond, WA?

    2. What is the status of Sizemore's ballot initiatives for 2010?

  • Evan (unverified)
    (Show?)

Please let that be Redmond, Washington.

I'm sure the hicks in Redmond, Oregon would be happy to have him, though.

Sizemoore's children have been un-enrolled at the schools they were attending in southern Oregon. The rumor was that they were telling friends they were moving to California.

Dick Wendt isn't an evil man. I don't agree with him, but to say that he is evil doesn't get to the root of the issues he or people like him care about. I think we can have a more civilized discussion about the issues than to call people evil. The Wendt family have invested a considerable amount of money in Oregon working families and do employ a fair ammount of people in a part of the state where unemployment is incredibly high. Please let us not forget in our disagreements about politics that these are just other human beings and do not deserve to have mud thrown in their eyes, just like we don't like having it thrown at us.

Gee whiz, now maybe people will actually address the merits of ballot measures instead of smearing Sizemore's name on everything to defeat it.

This really sucks! Sizemore saved us a lot of money because all we had to do was attach his name and picture to any bad whacko right wing initiative has in this past election and we would defeat it. Now we will really have to go to work. Redmond already has the worst Democratic performing precincts in the state - Sizemore can't make it any worse. Even so I feel a little dirty knowing he will live 15-20 minutes north.

  • (Show?)

I was only told "Redmond". I assume its Redmond, Oregon. If I get further clarification, I'll notify.

  • (Show?)

Wow...getting rid of Bush and Sizemore, maybe in the same month? What? Even Mannix has been turned into a near-nobody! My pessimistic, cynical brain can't compute!

Well, at least we still have Rush...

Carla, there's a Redding, CA as well, which would fit better with the school rumor noted above. Redding, CA would also be closer to K Falls than either Redmond, WA or Redmond, OR.

    FWIW.

Oregon has some of the funniest names in politics.

In Portland we've got a Breedlove, Ball, and Weiner making the news, now we've got information on where Sizemore's Dick Wendt.

So now a friend of Breedlove has come forward, saying there was sex between Adams & Breedlove while he was still 17.

Can we just say a 'stick a fork in him' (Adams), 'he's done.'?

Breaking news: Sam Adams was screwing Breedlove at 17, according to a close friend AND THERE'S VIDEOTAPE TO PROVE IT...

Dick Wendt was mentioned in the Oregonian several weeks ago regarding a failed real estate investment group he was heavily involved with.

I'm sure his stock portfolio isn't doing well either.

When the wealthy start losing 30%-50% of their investment asset base, they trim their portfolios and kick the non-performing assets to the curb.

Once again Steve Maurer hits the nail on the head.

And here I was thinking how amazing it was that Steve and I were on the same page -- in consecutive posts, no less -- for what must be the first time, and lestatdelc has to go and ruin it by crediting the second of us to say Sizemore was just the front man.

Read this blog much? That was the first comment on the affair that made it up here. Note the "why no coverage of Sam" bit? Pretty early days. And what was that very first comment?

    Mike,

Because liberals do not eat their own.

Sam's up here. And the stalwart progressives have stuck a fork in him and called him done. He would go well with chile on a day like today. Good, hoppy, pol!

    Dear Loren Parks -

I met you back in 1978, when you showed myself and some of my co-workers some hypnosis techniques. I'm a really good guy, and I'd like to replace Mr. Sizemore. -- I hear his job is vacant.

I'm in Central Oregon, which makes any part of Oregon no more than a 5 hour drive for me. I can cover the State for you. And going south, you're not that far away either!

I only need about $300,000 a year in salary, a paid for auto, a paid for credit card for gas and stuff, a fishing boat for stress relief, a nice office with a secretary (best be my wife for security reasons), and about 100 days off a year to do my own thing.

I promise to work and work and work to get ballot measures up and running. They might not actually get there, but I'll work really hard! Really I will!

I wait with great anticipation for your reply!
