We're Taking Names for the Next Class of Emerge Oregon

Paulie Brading

Emerge Oregon is the premier training program for Democratic women who want to run for office at the local, state and national level. We are already recruiting for the class of 2011. The appplication process won't be posted until this summer but we're on the lookout for fabulous female leaders today! Send a note to [email protected] for more information.

Oregon women from Emerge classes from '09 and '10 are already making their mark. Kudos to:

Samaura Stone ('10) recently appointed to the Oregon Commission for Black Affairs

On the November ballot:

As attention turns to the general in November we want to say thanks to Emerge class members Tualatin City Councilor Joelle Davis ('09) and Maria Rubio ('09) for their run in the primary and we hope to see their names on the ballot again soon.

Emerge Oregon is part of a national movement to address the under-representation of women in elected office at the local, state and federal level. The network is seven years old with Emerge affliates in nine states.

It is this time of year we begin to build the bench for the class of 2011. Emerge Oregon features a solid curriculum of campaign strategy nuts and bolts, fundraising, message development, getting ready to run, media training, job shadowing, call time, and more. Class members meet with Oregon leaders in the state House and Senate. Want more information? Email [email protected]

Full Disclosure: Paulie brading is a member of the Emerge board and a huge fan of Emerge Oregon.
