Readers of BlueOregon are a unique bunch. For starters, nearly 90% are in Oregon and 84% vote in every single election. They're an activist bunch: 77% have given money to a campaign, 73% have volunteered, and 8% have run for office (6% have won!). Reporters find their way here, with 14% of our audience. They're educated (80% have a college degree or better) and they've got money to burn (53% earn over $60k/year). Age is a state of mind, but 54% are between age 35 and 65. And most interesting? 41% say they ideologically "middle of the road" (51% more-or-less liberal) and 52% claim to be swing voters (and 39% mostly vote Democrat). There are two ad placements. Our Premium Sponsor spot is limited to one at any given time. It occupies the top spot on the left sidebar. Our regular BlueOregon Sponsor ads will appear below the premium spot.
There are three ad types for the regular sponsor ads: standard ads (150x200 image, 300 text chars); mini ads (150x100 image, 100 text chars) and classifieds (no image, 500 text chars).
The Premium Sponsor ad is $100/week. BlueOregon Sponsors are $50/week for standard ads, and $25/week for mini ads and classifieds. There is a small bonus for buying a full month (since most months are longer than four weeks). Finally, a three month ad-buy is only 2.5 times the full-month rate.
These ad rates are guaranteed for ads purchased through December 31, 2006. We re-evaluate our ad rates quarterly, though we won't raise rates on ads already in the queue.
For legal and accounting purposes, BlueOregon is published by Mandate Media, Inc., an internet strategy firm for people changing the world. After expenses, however, net revenues are used to provide small tokens of appreciation for our volunteer writers. BlueOregon won't make anyone rich, and its mission is to advance progressive commentary and help provide a gathering place for the grassroots progressive community in Oregon.
