Kitzhaber selects former NYC chancellor as public school's chief
Gov. John Kitzhaber has selected an educator who has led some of the nation's largest school systems to be the state's first Chief Education Officer.
Rudy Crew was introduced by Kitzhaber at a Wednesday morning event at Earl Boyles Elementary School in Portland as the right person to overhaul the state's public education system.
