Jefferson Smith blasts coal, urges Portland City Council action
In a video Smith's campaign released last night, Smith says he agrees with Gov. John Kitzhaber's call to conduct a widespread health impact study of coal exports. He says he wants Portland's city attorney to study what the city could do to regulate coal traffic. And he says Portland should ensure there are no coal terminals on West Hayden Island when it is redeveloped for use by the Port of Portland.
