Riley: Kitzhaber's ratings soar over the past year

Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber’s approval ratings have jumped by 10 percent from a year ago.

Kitzhaber, in his third non-consecutive term as Oregon’s governor, landed approval from 55 percent of those surveyed in a Riley Research poll. The Portland-based researcher found that women favor Kitzhaber more than men (58 percent to 51 percent) and that he has the approval of 68 percent of Portlanders.

Riley’s results are based on a survey of 396 likely voters taken between Aug. 20 and Aug. 30.
