Oregon Legislature adopts harassment policy

Associated Press:

The Oregon Legislature is creating a procedure for employees to report harassment.

The policy adopted Friday comes after a former employee accused Rep. Matt Wingard of pressuring her to have a sexual relationship, a charge he's denied.

Under the new policy, an investigator will look into formal complaints of harassment and report findings to House and Senate conduct committees. The committees will decide whether the complaint merits sanctions that could range from a reprimand to expulsion from the Legislature.
