Hillsboro breaks stadium ground, name comes next
Baseball is here again. Or so it seemed Friday morning in Hillsboro.
Officials from the yet-unnamed Hillsboro baseball team, which will play in the short-season Single A Northwest League, joined league bigwigs and city officials for a stadium groundbreaking ceremony. The ground on the new stadium, next to the existing multi-purpose Hillsboro Stadium, was broken by Hillsboro Mayor Jerry Willey, who manned a massive diesel shovel truck, and by 11 dignitaries who used gold-plated spades with baseball…
