Jeff Cogen praises library vote, touts benefits

Having approved formation of a district to provide stable funding for the Multnomah County Library, the public will start enjoying the most obvious benefits on July 1. That’s when the district officially becomes operational, allowing library hours to expand to 57 hours a week from the current 44, with the library buildings open seven days a week.
