Same-sex marriage initiative gets closer to ballot

Oregon United for Marriage has easily cleared the signature hurdle necessary to begin the ballot title process.

The group on Tuesday turned in 2,000 sponsorship signatures at the Secretary of State elections office. That's double the number of signatures needed to begin the ballot title process.
