Columbia River Crossing bill headed to Kitzhaber

A measure authorizing bond funding to help pay for the Columbia River Crossing easily passed the Senate on Monday.

Senators voted 18 to 11 in favor of HB 2800, which would provide about $450 million toward the $3.4 billion needed to build a new Interstate-5 span across the Columbia River.

The House passed the bill on a 45-to-14 vote last week, and Washington lawmakers are considering a measure that would cover that state's portion.
