Obama taps former state senator for national post
President Barack Obama has nominated former state Sen. Rick Metsger to a position on the National Credit Union Administration's three-person board.
Metsger, a Democrat, served in the Oregon Senate from 1999-2011.
He is president of Parakletos Strategic Public Affairs LLC. Metsger has also worked as a consultant for the Northwest Credit Union Association.
The appointment requires U.S. Senate confirmation.
