Wheat fallout Q&A: Wyden's plan to protect Oregon exports

U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden on Friday urged federal agriculture officials to work together with U.S. trade and commerce leaders to ensure Oregon’s valuable wheat exports aren’t harmed by the ongoing probe into genetically modified wheat found in the state.

Wyden penned a letter to U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, thanking him for investigating the issue, while imploring him to see that the state’s $500 million in wheat exports isn’t “put into jeopardy by this discovery.”
