Nike tax certainty amendment blocked
The bill that extended tax certainty to Nike will not be amended to expand the same incentives to small businesses.
The original bill signed by Gov. Kitzhaber in December requires that the state continue to tax Nike based solely on its sales in Oregon, as opposed to its worldwide sales. In return, Nike committed to investing at least $150 million to expand in Oregon and create a minimum of 500 new jobs.
Since then Nike announced it would expand its headquarters in Washington County.
