Powerful allies lineup behind reinvented CRC

Executives of some of Oregon's largest companies are urging the governors of Oregon and Washington to consider a new plan for the Columbia River Crossing.

In an open letter to Gov. John Kitzhaber and Gov. Jay Inslee, the executives touted the so-called phased option, which would replaced the I-5 bridge, connect light rail and improve area interchanges on the Oregon side. Washington road and interchange improvements would be phased in as funding for those projects becomes available.
