Oregon to D.C.: Give tax credits to people who had to bypass health exchange

Gov. John Kitzhaber sent two deputies to Washington, D.C., this week to ask for the green light to give tax credits to consumers who bypassed the troubled Cover Oregon health exchange, Kaiser Health News reported.

Sean Kolmer, the governor’s health policy adviser, and Dan Carol, director of multistate and strategic initiatives for the Kitzhaber administration, were to meet with officials at the Department of Health and Human Services on Tuesday, Kaiser reported.
