Daimler Trucks North America settles discrimination suits for $2.4M

Daimler Trucks North America has entered into a $2.4 million settlement, stemming from racial discrimination complaints filed last year by workers at the Portland Truck Manufacturing Plant, Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian announced.

The settlement agreement was between the German-owned Daimler, six former employees at the Swan Island facility and the Bureau of Labor and Industries. It's the largest monetary settlement in the history of the bureau's Civil Rights Division.
